What Your Child Will Do This Summer...
Experienced and Loving Teachers Who Know How To Make Summer Fun!
Our teachers LOVE to make summer EXTRA fun for the kids. We offer plenty of options to play and create with natural learning along the way.
Weekly Themes and Core Values Taught With Books and Activities!
We have designed Summer Adventure Camp around two main components; a weekly theme and a weekly core value. We will have lots of books and activities to help us learn MORE about the themed topic for the week. We will have a Freedom Island book (Brave Books) each week with a core value and three challenges (games) that will be spread out over the week. These books are a class favorite!
Creativity is Encouraged!
Your child will have access to art and craft supplies each day. They will be free to work on a project however long they want, take breaks and come back to it. Many of our students enjoy writing and illustrating their own books, making creations out of scrap construction paper, drawing, painting, and so much more! The possibilities are endless!
Games, Games and More Games!
You child will have the opportunity to play all sorts of games. We have a collection of traditional board games, card games and more. We have kid versions of some of the most popular games. During the summer, we have all of our games out for easy access.
Building and Puzzles!
We have numerous types of building resources; blocks (small and LARGE), Duplo and Lego, Magnetic Tiles, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, Construction Engineering Building Blocks, Kid K'nex, plus more! We have all sorts of puzzles; for very young to puzzles with 300-500 pieces for those who want a bit of a challenge. Our teachers are always working on a big puzzle that they kids enjoy helping with. We also have other types of puzzles like Brain Teasers.
Outside Fun!
Your child will enjoy being outside daily, weather permitting. We have a wonderful playground and lots of room to run around. We will go outside in the mornings, before it gets too hot.
Outside Water Play!
You child will enjoy our water activities at least one day each week. We might do water activities more than one day, so we ask that you send their water clothes each day, just in case.

What Your Child Needs To Bring...
Each Child Needs A Backpack!
Children will bring a backpack each day. Inside the backpack, they need a change of clothes, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and bug spray.. All labeled with your child's name.
Each Child Needs A Lunch and Snack!
Your child needs to bring a lunch and snack each day. If your child is only here for the summer, please also send a water bottle that will go home each day.
Each Child Needs A Nap-mat or Blanket!
Your child needs to bring a nap-mat or blanket for rest time. Elementary students do not have to bring one but can if they plan to lay down during that time. Otherwise, they will have a place to sit and read or work on something quietly while the younger kids rest.
Each Child Needs Proper Outside Shoes and Play Clothes!
Your child will need shoes that they can run and climb in. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Please send your children in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and that getting glue or paint on wouldn't be a nightmare. The kids DO put on large oversized shirts for painting but that doesn't always protect their clothes despite our best intentions. They are encouraged to do as much of their creating on their own so they can learn and improve as they do things. It gets messy!

THE FREEDOM ISLAND ADVENTURES
Brave Books has a series of books that build on each other and teach children core values with each story. It comes with a map and challenges (games) at the end of each story. Summer Adventure Camp '23 we started using the Treasure Boxes for each Saga as part of our summer program. It was a HUGE hit with the kids.
We will focus on a different core value each week with our Freedom Island Saga Two books and activities. We will do an introduction to the Freedom Island Saga by reading through the Saga One books before starting Saga Two weekly challenges. Each week we will read the same story everyday and discuss new details that pop out at us. We will do three different challenges during the week to learn more about that core value and how we can apply it to our lives. There will be activity sheets and coloring pages, crafts and puzzles that go with our Freedom Island books.
The kids are pumped to continue the adventures with Saga Two this summer! During the school year, we read the different books from all 4 sagas but we don't do the challenges and place stickers on our map. The kids have to wait for our Summer Adventure Camp weeks.
