Adventure Corner Private School is a Christ-centered, home-based private school serving preschool through fifth grade, in Arlington, Texas. We offer a full homeschool program for families who need comprehensive academic support, as well as Enrichment Days for homeschool families seeking meaningful learning experiences outside the home two days each week. Our program provides a strong academic foundation while nurturing each child's spiritual growth, curiosity, and love of learning.

Is Adventure Corner Private School a daycare or childcare center?
NO! Adventure Corner is a home-based private school offering a full homeschool program and a two-day enrichment option for homeschool families.
What is your health and safety policy?
We follow all local guidelines, including our 24-hour sickness policy (your child must be clear of the following symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school: fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea).
What is your policy when handling challenging behavior?
We encourage kindness and respect, listening, following directions and cooperation, caring for materials and nature and keeping hands to oneself. Guidance is age-appropriate, focusing on redirection and positive reinforcement. Children are removed from the situation if they are not able to correctly respond or causing another student distress. Students may return to activity when they correct their behavior and make better choices.
What is your policy on bad weather and closure?
If the local schools and churches closer, we will close, for everyone's safety. It is our hope that families will stay safe during any bad weather situation. Tuition is still due if we are closed for bad weather.
How do you determine tuition for students whose parent is a teacher?
Tuition for teachers is determined differently. Teachers are charged for the weeks of school but do not have to pay for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break or summers unless they choose to have them attend during that time.
Do I have to provide meals for my child?
Yes, they will need to bring their lunch and snack each day. Please make sure they have eaten breakfast before dropping off each morning to give them the energy and attention needed.
Can I take a tour first?
Yes! We would love to give you a tour of our school. During the tour, we'll tell you all about us. At the end, we'll ask: "Would you like your child to come to our school?" If so, that's when we'll have you fill out the registration form and we'll collect the registration fee and supply/curriculum fee. Please call us to schedule a tour.
What things do I need to send with my child each day?
Your child needs to bring a backpack with a change of clothes. They will take it home and bring it back each day of school. Full-day students must also bring a lunch and snack. Full-day students also need to bring a blanket to lay on to read and rest during quiet time each afternoon. It needs to fit in their backpack so it can go home daily.
What is your policy on potty training?
We ask that children attending our school be fully potty trained before starting. If your child is in the process and doing well at home, we are willing to work with them at school on a case-by-case basis.
Do I have to buy school supplies?
No. Your child's supplies and curriculum are included in the yearly fees. Many parents and grandparents choose to purchase items off of our wish list throughout the year, but it is not required or even expected. We are grateful, of course, for any gifts for our school and students.
When is tuition due each month?
Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. If you need a different payment arrangement, that will have to be discussed before your contract is drawn up and signed. Supply/curriculum fees are due July 1st. A summer supply fee is due May 1.
Is tuition determined by attendance?
No, tuition pays for your child's spot regardless of attendance. Tuition is added up and divided by 10 or 12 months. School holidays are figured into the tuition, and equal payments are due on the 1st of each month regardless of how many weeks of school are that month. It doesn't matter if the child is here every day or misses.
What if I'm a teacher and I am not working holidays or summers? Do I still have to pay for those weeks?
Tuition for teachers is determined differently. Teachers are charged for the weeks of school but do not have to pay for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break or summers unless they choose to have them attend during that time.
When does school start? Can I enroll mid-year?

Our Kinder and Elementary school year runs mid-August - May (9 months) with summer camps the rest of the year, except for one week during summer that we are closed.
